rayofmemory's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ::i never promised you shit:: the book i am reading for contemp. lit. is I Never Promised You A Rose Garden. for those who read i like it very much. the book is about a six-teen-old girl who has schizophrenia. the summary on the back of the book is: Seldom has the strange and seductive world of mental illness been charted more explicitly, or more beautifully, than in this novel-this shining story of a young girl's three years in a mental hospital and her journey back from madness to reality. today i had to write a summary of what i thought of the book so far. for those of you who have read the book or for some really bizarre coincident are reading the same book you'll understand the summary i wrote that i am posting: i like the book very much and i don't find it all that confusing. its almost scary becuz even though its fictional that is what people go through that have schizophrenia, and i don't really look at it as crazy. it just seems that their a normal person to the extreme and it kind of makes me wonder if something could throw you off balance, like something very emotional could happen, and then you would be just like Deborah. or if Deborah is a "normal" person just advanced or to the extreme, then what is wrong with that? maybe its a gift. as weird as it sounds maybe shes contacting someone in different dimentions. could she possibly live with Yr in her head? what is "normal" is only normal becuz thats what we're used to or what we grew up with. if someone could find the restart button of the world maybe we could grow up with what Deborah had in her head and then it would be "normal".
